What feels a bit like magic, creating color with natural dyes has been a favored journey of mine…

For me, it’s more about the process. A practice of patience, persistence, curiosity, and awe, watching color flood out of natural resources to become a dye vat is something that will never get old. From wood shavings that turn yellow, roots and seeds that dye pink, leaves dying yellow and blue, and acorns dying grey. Nature continues to amaze me from my inspiration gained while exploring it, to my work in textiles.

I enjoy sharing my love for the dying process with my friends and colleagues and have been able to lead workshops through my workplace. The following work is my explorations of the process along with shibori techniques and product creation, some of which I have sold at Converse’s Lovejoy Holiday Market.
